Profile

Hometown:
Olalla, WA (Hawaii at Heart)
About Me:
Been shooting a Nikon D70 for several years, moved up recently to the D300. I enjoy shooting concerts, scenic Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, florals/nature and classic cars. I live vicariously through the cars I restore and drive. Going back to the 50's is near and dear to my heart.
I do graphic work in which a lot of my photography is used. I support regional and national car clubs, The United States Naval Academy and the United States Navy League by doing magazine photography, slideshows and custom publications.
I run several websites for Hawaiian Music Artist friends and yacht clubs, of which I'm very proud. This enables me the possibility of visiting Hawaii several times a year and shoot some very talented people, attending some very special events and rub elbows with some of the finest music artists in the world both here on the mainland and in the islands. To those friends I thank you for the exposure and support.
My latest project is helping to promote a National Lone Sailor Project to be constructed near where I live. My graphics and slideshows have been used to help promote this monumental occurance. My other project is currently in the making and will curtail a joint endeavor helping to perpetuate Hawaiian Artwork. This will enable me to do an in-depth photo shoot in Hawaii in the near future. I'm totally stoked about this project. More to come on that later on. ~Mahalo

Gear
Right side Photos Displays a few of the camera's I've had the opportunity of growing up with and shooting. Now considered "antiques" these are still fully functional.

I've been shooting digital for many years, beginning with Sony and moving to Sony Mavica 400's (convienent for what I was doing with it at the time) My first Nikon SLR was the D70 which I still have and use religiously. I have upgraded to the magnificent Nikon D300 recently and am totally impressed with the results! My favorite lens is my 70-200mm 2.8 VR since I shoot primarily without flash at concerts ect! (altho I have several)

When down, I remember....

Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter. ~Ansel Adams

Hi Lea, you have some very beautiful images here and I am jealous of your choice of long term projects. It has been way too long since the last time I have been to either the Seattle area or Hawaii and what's not to like about a passion for classic cars? I am very happy to be considered a friend.

I will try to post more scenery photos. Your images are also great. Like you I upgraded from D70S to D300. Love the D300 a lot and far more superior than photos taken from D70S. Looking forward to more photos this coming spring and summer.

Thank you, Lea. I appreciate that.

I've just seen quite a few of your images, and they are beautifully done. Great work.

Without photography there could not be any history nor memories.
