Charging internal battery with mb d10 installed

Hello All:

Waiting on my D300 and MB D10!

I think I know the answer to my question, but I thought I'd ask anyway. When a battery is installed in the camera, I'm assuming that the grip has to be removed in order to charge the in camera battery once it is depleted? If this is the case, can I operate the camera and the grip with the battery installed only in the grip?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you have to remove the in camera battery and the grip to charge the battery. Yes, you can operate the camera with a battery installed in the grip only. I know it costs more money, but I prefer to use the ENEL4a battery in the grip. No battery in the camera.
