D300 Review by Thom Hogan

Just to make you aware of a review of the D300 by Thom Hogan that has just been released on his own site at http://www.bythom.com/nikond300review.htm#handling. It makes for interesting reading, but only contains a few tips as this is a precursor for the impending launch of his 700 + page book/manual on the D300.

Thank you for posting Thom, don't think however we need to know how great our cameras are?? LOL

Apologies for not replying sooner. I don't think I will ever get to know the full capibilities of the D300, but I will get there, some day. I think I might go for George Manns little cards, a wonderful idea and will save me carting the manual about with me. - Ken

Ken, I very much appreciate your intention to buy my Pocket Guide for the D300 (I honestly hope everyone buys one), but I would also like to encourage everyone to buy Thom's D300 Guide, considering the amount of money we all have invested in this camera, it makes sense to learn as much as possible about it.

I just ordered Thom's D300 eBook but in addition to the 771 page Guide, there is a printed summary "The Nikon D300 To Go" that will companion the eBook. He doesn't have a ship date yet but I will let you know when I get mine.

George, If I had discovered your cards first I would have posted the fact to let everyone know. I think it's a novel idea, saves carrying the manual.

Hi Ken,

I should mention that this is not a set of cards but rather and eight page laminated "book" that folds in accordian fashion, sort of like a map. I designed it to easily fit in a camera bag pocket, without really taking up any room. I do a lot of remote location photography so decided to make something I could use myself, no matter where I go.

Hi Ken,

I have seen the "paperwork" go through, the Pocket Guide is on the way to you. I hope you get a lot of good use out of it.

Thank you, George
