The D300 has arrived, How are you enjoying yours?

A quick start to a long thread I am sure of. I have been having a blast with mine. It is a big step up from the D100. I guess I need to take more pictures and have more fun! I will be posting pictures soon. (small problem on my end won't let me upload pictures yet) Also looking forward to upgrading my D300 with the MB-D10.

Long and short of it- I am very happy with my purchase. Thank you Nikon.

Just wondering, do all D300 serials start with 800 or is that just for the UK? Mine came with 80021xx, so I wondering if it was in the first two thousand odd to arrive in the UK?

Mine has a number of 3017XXX.

I've had mine for almost a week and love it! Coming from a Fuji S3, I'm learning new controls and menus, but I love the results.

Thank you, Keith. The Mandir temple is located in Lilburn, GA. My photogrphy club toured the temple last weekend; photography was not allowed inside and the building is still under construction, but we enjoyed taking pics of the fascinating exterior.

Greetings from Dublin, Ireland. Nice shots, and you only had your new camera a week! I've just got mine and haven't had a chance yet to get out for a session as we are having a spell of traditional Irish weather. Am new to digital so, truth be told, I'm also a little bit overwhelmed by the myriad of buttons!

What a joy exploring the D300!
Mine just arrived and I'm just beginning to get into the menus.
I love the new interface and monitor.
It's so much easier to examine your images in the field and adjust your settings.
So far, I've only tried the 21 point focus.
Image quality is great!

I love my new D300.. however after two short miserable weather days of shooting test shots I'm finding that it's shooting somewhat hot! Is this typical of this camera? My shots are coming our somewhat over exposed??? Only shot on automatic setting so far and wondering how some of you are compensating for this if it is normal?
Just the first of my many questions to come.
Perhaps I'm too used to my old D70? LOL
