erratic d300

warm greetings,
nikon products have always been my favourites, thats why i am so disappointed to
say that i am about to bring my week old d300 back to the distributor/service center here in manila..my other Nikons have faithfully served me all the time ,i am so impressed with my d200 thats why i bought the d300..but the D300 suffers from a very erratic focusing system.it just suddenly takes very under exposed pictures almost black!!.what a let down Nikon!

good day Patrick,lea,

i am happy to say that i got my replacement D300 this pm and have been
shooting away with test photos at this time of the day,9:40 pm manila time, all handheld. so far i am very happy with the results, posted some of them...our nikon D300 models here are assembled in Thailand, are yours as well?

thank you so much for kind of seeing me through all this,i am optimistic that my D300 will turn out to be just like my older Nikons , f 2,f3 and nikonos still working just fine, and am proud of them...best regards,,gene

Hi Folks

Just wanted to mention that the "Complete Guide To The Nikon D300" by Thom Hogan is another great reference. It is very very detailed and goes far beyond the Nikon supplied manual. Well worth having.

And Gene, great to hear that you have a new D300 to play with. It really is a remarkable piece of engineering.

Cheers...
