Phottix Cleon Wired / Wireless Hybrid Remote Control N8 for Nikon D300 / D200 / D700 / D3 / D3X

I recently purchased the Phottix Cleon Wired / Wireless Hybrid Remote Control N8 for Nikon D300 / D200 / D700 / D3 / D3X, which is featured on the D300 Lounge website. I could not be more pleased. I purchased the very expensive Nikon version and quite frankly it does not work nearly as well. I highly suggest this device and at the cost, you really can't go wrong.

Thank Elaine. Being in a wheelchair was becoming even more of a problem for me when the Nikon Remote wasn't working properly. Now, if my subject decides to attack me, I'll be able to run away at up to 6.5 miles per hour, and still catch a couple of shots of him!

Seth,

I had the same problem with my much more expensive Nikon remote. I was just never happy with it. The Phottix is wonderful and certainly the price was quite a bit less. Glad that you were also pleased with yours.

I recieved my Phottix Cleon II Remote Control last week. I'm very pleased with it. I used to have problems with my Nikon Remote Control, but with the Cleon II the shots are taken anywhere that I might be standing or sitting up to 365 ft. away.

I was getting less of a range with the Nikon model and it would fire inconsistency. Your solution was quite clever!

Hi Elaine!

I've purchased a produkt quite similar to Your Phottix and was somewhat dis-satisfyed with the range (promised about 100m, but only went less than a third of the way). I then opened the receiver (the camera mounted part) welded a string (30 cm) of electrical wire to the antenna and voilá, the optimal range of 100m was easily reached - on a fresh set of batteries.
I now can photograph birds close up when I sit in a hide some 10 or 20 meters away. I am so looking forward to test it in real life situations.
