I saw one grip Adam mentioned came with the the additional battery door that you had to buy. It is not Nikon but a heck of a lot cheaper. I didn't even factor in the charger cost either. Also, I heard that using 8 AA batteries will increase the FP...

I always have the grip on my camera. For me, I like the balance. I think it will kick up the frame rate to 8fps, but to get that you must use AA's or the $100-$125 battery that is used in the D2x.. I use the EN-EL-3a in mine, shoots at 6fps, fast enough for me.

New England is a place with so much to offer the photographic eye. We probably all forget to appreciate what is right before our eyes everyday.

Have a great time in Vegas and enjoy your birthday. Vegas should offer some fun photo ops. Have a great time.

I will be interested in hearing your opinion when you get the new Sigma lens. I tend to like their lenses so far.

I am in Danbury. I have been to Litchfield and areas of the county and it is a beautiful area for photos.

What lens did you use for the train photo? That came out great.

The grip is nice but adds considerable weight. Plus, if you get the high end battery be aware that you will need to spend a lot more for a charger and for a "door" to house the battery in the chamber. It really is a rip off. I plan to return the battery and keep the grip.
