Wow, an amazing history for an amazing building. I just googled it to see where it is and was surprised to see it not being in Wales!! The name sounds Welsh :)
Thanks for your comments, Mark, and I agree with you! Sir Thomas Tresham started to build this as a summer lodge and his son, Francis, should have finished it. But in 1605 Francis got involved in the Gunpowder Plot. The plotters were all arrested,...
Do you know what the flag on the right is, Gerry? It is interesting that it has the Union Flag (Union Jack) of the UK as well as the cross of St. George flag of England - both on the same flag. Strange!
Hi Hogan, I bought my D300 last year and didn't have a clue what to do with all those dials and knobs! I struggled a lot till I came across Ken Rockwell's idiot's guide to the D300. Click on the following, I'm sure you will find his guide a great ...
As a relative newcomer to photography, my enthusiasm keeps waxing and waning. I take a few good shots and become very enthusiastic then take a few cruddy ones and quickly lose interest. I guess a lot of people are like that but I am hoping to get lots of inspiration from joining this group! :O)
No, I did not expect to see Spec Ops photos, Ronald. I just thought that trained as a Spec Ops photographer you must be an expert photographer so I was looking forward to seeing your current photos!
Viewing my Spec-Ops photo's..kidding right? Not gonna' happen. Sorry! I value my retirement! Seriously though..they were taken aprox. 20 years ago (Green Beret A-Team/Sniper Team) ; all shot with Nikon camera's and lenses and Kodak film (lot's of ASA 400). A lot of people don't realise that probably 75-80% of being a Sniper is _Observation_ (hence the photo part) and Recon, BORING..followed by intense moments of fear and tension..then..more boredom in sometimes _very_ uncomfortable situations. No..those photo's will never see the light of day! Sorry.
Yes, I have a UV filter fitted to protect the lens but didn't know if the lens hood made any difference to the quality of photographs? I can imagine it would if you were shooting into or at an acute angle to the sun but wondered if it makes any difference when shooting normally?
Jack,
Re: the lens hood on my D300 . . . yes, I almost always use it. To me, it's just one more lens protector especially when walking around in a crowd. Also, all my lenses have a UV or polarizer attached. It's just another layer of peace of mind for me.
You are Most welcome. You must have some Arts in your background somewhere because you realy have an artistic eye and I can usually tell. I am an Art major but never finished. I expanded my talents in other areas. i.e. Photography. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your photos and hope to see more soon.
Awwwww......... thanks so much for your so very nice comments! I do appreciate that. I have been working so hard to make a name for myself this late in life.. ; ) You don't get very manymore chances to do something with your life once you get past the big one....LOL 50 that is...
So any comments I get , good /or bad I do appreciate.
Thanks so much.
Terry
Just reviewed your current Lounge 'stock.' Hard to pick which one I like best. They are all exquisite. OK, I do favor the large ocean driftwood shot. It stands out for me. Are all your submissions shot with the 18-200VR lens? Do you use much post-processing? If so, what software? Welcome to you. Keep those winners coming.
