Elaine, we have two grandsons - age 2 1/2 and 4 months. They are so, so much fun. You are going to love it. It will great that you will have ALL that time to devote to being a grandmother. It is so cool!! I have the photos to prove it - when you're bored click on http://www.dgm247.com/JacksonANDCharlie.html - my daughter took some of the photos, I can't claim them all. Have a great weekend. I've been out of town for days and days so I'm looking forward to my "own stuff" when I get home.

I'm right there with you. I have completed my 36th year at the same place, now working on my 37th. It is so long to be at the same place, same people, same routine. Fortunately, I do travel quite a lot so that breaks up the routine somewhat. If I could only find someone to pay me to ride my Harley and take photos that would make me so happy! I work for a furniture manufacturing company. I'm in charge of sales and marketing. What have you be doing for 37 years?

It was a bit of a pain to upload all the photos but I wanted to share them with my friends and family. The task was made easier with Adobe Lightroom whereby you can resize images for the internet very quickly, then it becomes a matter of placement on the web page. Have you used LIghtroom?

I also have the 18-200 lens but I've only had this camera for less than a week so I've got a lot to learn. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can get. check out the photos I took with my old camera by clicking on this link http://www.dgm247.com/VACATION2008.html. I took about 1800 photos.

Today I looked at a 11-17 Tokina lens. Have you ever used a lens like this and what was your opinion? Thanks. Don

Hi Elaine, just wanted to stop by and say HI... Things are still very hectic here and I haven't been home much. I'm oh so ready for spring and sick of the gray and gloom here in Seattle... Just doesn't seem to want to dissapear. Anyway was thinking about you when I posted some photos and wanted to let you know you have been in my thoughts. Hope all is well with you. Take care of yourself. Hugs, Lea

Hi Elaine, I was raised in Newtown and I know Squantz pond well, I have captures from the 70's around here somewhere. I now live in NH at the foothills of the White Mountains. However, I go down to CT a couple of times a year, and there are some fabulous places to shoot.

Phottix Cleon Wired / Wireless Hybrid Remote Control N8 for Nikon D300 / D200 / D700 / D3 / D3X

I recently purchased the Phottix Cleon Wired / Wireless Hybrid Remote Control N8 for Nikon D300 / D200 / D700 / D3 / D3X, which is featured on the D300 Lounge website. I could not be more pleased. I purchased the very expensive Nikon version and quite frankly it does not work nearly as well. I highly suggest this device and at the cost, you really can't go wrong.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras

Does anyone have the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras? I was wondering if you have any issues with it on your D300 as some people seem to have.
