Hi Don:
Still loving the site. Thanks for setting it up.
On Sept. 30 I bypassed upgrading my D2H to a D300 & instead moved up to a D300s. Bought it for the stereo video aspect and am loving it. I highly recommend the camera. Am going to try the multiple exposure feature (up to 10 frames) & will post some of those in the coming days.
Thank you Don for you comment on 9-11. We unfortunately did lose some friends and besides Victor many of our family and friends were active in the search and rescue. I still witness the biggest change in New Yorker's attitudes since this horrific day. Thank you

Hi. there Don...
If you watch the news, you will see that we (SoCal) have more wildfires then big surf right now! I have not been at the surf line up for more then five weeks due to a broken finger on my left foot; caused by a 9' 4" long board that hit my left foot while surfing at Sunset Beach. That is about ten driving minutes south of Malibu.
Now, about some photos of the surf... unfortunately, I am a People/ Portrait shooter more so then Landscape shooter. I really like the Human Landscape more the Nature Landscape. For some reason hard to explain, I find more of a challenge to photograph faces and really enjoy the interaction with my subjects a whole lot more.
But one of these days I might just move lens five inches to the right or the left away from somebody`s face, just to capture the background and see what comes up.
Good to hear from you! I hope you are well and enjoying life.
PS. my e-mail address is carlos5847@sbcglobal.net

Carlos.
Don thanks for the welcome!
Yes we have nice weather here. in SoCAL.
So much that I actually spend more of my free time in REAL surfing activity then "surfing the net". I use my computer to check the surf report a lot.
Iam glad that i found this site; I got my d300 a while ago and I dont think that I have use it enough. Great camera, though. But since I have your ear..(or is it your eyes?) lol.
Can you tell me if our D300 would work with my old SB80DX flash? What would happen if I try to use them together? Could either of them become damaged?
I know I can use them together with a set of Poket Wisard. I know because I have, but I have a SC17 flash cable for the sb80dx and my F100; I want to use with the D300.
your advice or anyone on this forum would be great.
After all, this is what this site is about.. I hope.!
Carlos..
Green abounds here due to all the water that falls but we also have some fantastic historical Castles within Northumberland and a World Heritage Site at Hadrians Wall (Romans built it to keep the Scot's at bay). Will post some shots in due course that I hope will be of interest.
I'm new to the D300 and indeed DSLR's although I also used a compact digital briefly before.
I hope to get some shots of our area before too long (we live in the most northerly County of England with some beautiful countryside near to the border with Scotland - shame about our weather though!). Cheers!!
The Hawaii Tourist and Convention Bureau use some of my work but I'm a freelance photographer and dedicate my time and energy towards independent music artists. Fun part is I get to shoot the stars both in Hawaii and here in Seattle when they come for concerts. Polynesian arts and music are very popular up here.
My husband and I are contemplating a move to warmer climate possibly, he's been thinking Myrtle Beach S. Carolina, wants to get back to the east coast. Will see
Take care and best of luck with your wonderful photography also.
Hugs
