My birthday (November 8th) started out on a low note. My lovely wife had decided to spend the weekend with her sisters at the annual Pumpkin Chunkin in lower Delaware. My older daughter had spent the weekend at RIT in Rochester and was driving home and my younger daughter had played laser tag into the wee hours of the morning and spent the night at a friends house.

We just returned this afternoon from our extended trip (surprise surprise) out on the boat. Originally we were only going out for a week of excitement in the Canadian Gulf Islands but the weather here turned to HOT. 108 degrees here in Seattle, Victoria and Nanaimo in BC were over 100 when we were moored (did a lot of swimming to cool off) and the last thing we wanted was to sit here at home and try to beat the heat, the seas were calm and Lea’s Gall Bladder pain level was kept minimal so off we… Continue
